About the Friends
As a Friend...
You do more than enhance the Libraries' book collections. Your membership
supports the freedom to satisfy intellectual curiosity and advance scholarly
research. For more than thirty years, the Friends have provided invaluable
support to the University of Rochester Libraries. Gifts from the Friends
have supported:
- Expansion of the book collections, now numbering over three million
volumes.
- Preservation and conservation efforts in the Department of Rare Books,
Special Collections, and Preservation of the River Campus Libraries.
- Improvements to University of Rochester Libraries' technologies.
- Continued refurbishment of existing structures.
- Augmentation of databases and other nonprint formats.
- Establishment of the Graduate Dissertation Fund.
- Digitization and on-line cataloging of the Libraries' special collections.
