Questia Update

On April 17th, I received an email from Questia indicating that Questia is now "bigger and better."   So, I took a look to see what had changed.  The most significant change is that Questia has added journal articles into its collection-- approximately 4,600 of them.  Using Questia's own subject classifications, the articles fall within the following categories:

Anthropology- 156 Archaeology- 2 Architecture- 1
Area Studies- 47 Art- 30 Classical Studies- 0
Ecology- 157 Economics- 313 Education- 741
Ethnic Studies- 149 Gay & Lesbian Studies- 4 Gender Studies- 9
Geography- 0 History- 493 History & Phil. of Science- 0
Human Communication- 11 Journalism- 1 Legal Studies- 127
Linguistics & Language- 8 Literature- 573 Media Studies- 5
Music- 0 Performing Arts- 8 Philosophy- 159
Political Science- 194 Psychology- 1915 Religion Studies- 151
Sociology- 604

There appear to be only about 30-40 journals.  The majority are published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, but other, such as  Heldref Publications, University of Nebraska Press and Religious Research Association.  A random sampling of 45 articles had an average publication year of 1995.  The publication years ranged from 1988 to 2000, with the majority falling within 1996.  There was only one article published in 2000 and only four articles in 1999.
