netLibrary & Questia Get Facelifts

netLibrary-

In early August, netLibrary made several changes to netLibrary's website and product (http://www.netlibrary.com/). Below are some highlights of the changes. For a full, detailed description of all of the changes, see "netLibrary, The Next Edition."

  • New gold and red color scheme
  • Graphics have been optimized to reduce load time
  • Use of consistent tabs across the top to improve site navigation
  • You are here indicator for improved navigation
  • netLibrary logo size has been reduced
  • Newly created "Reading Room," where ebooks are read, browsed, checked out and a list of "My Favorites" is created
  • Ability for administrator to delete or select large groups of accounts

 


Questia-

Questia's has condensed the features of its online library service into three categories, each with its own designating color-- Search, Read & Work. The functionality of the site is the same, however additional monographs have been added, bringing the total to more than 40,000 (list of publishing partners). Moreover, the number of journal articles has increased to over 20,000 (list of journal titles).

Questia has also added the webpage "10 Cool Things About Questia," which contains ten reasons why Questia's online library is better than a traditional library:
