History E-Book Project's Initial Title List

As was reported in a past newsletter issue, the American Council of Learned Societies has embarked on an electronic publishing initiative for history monographs, History E-Book Project. The project has published a list of 752 backlist titles to which the project is interested in seeking the electronic rights. Once the rights to at least 500 of the titles have been secured, the project will go online. The list of titles is broken down using the American Historical Review's subject categories for book reviews.

If you would like to recommend a history monograph of "high quality and lasting merit" for inclusion in the project, send an email with the title, author, publisher and publication date, along with you name, position and affiliation.
