Gemstar to Drop Prices

Henry Yuen, chairman of Gemstar-TV Guide International, announced at the Merrill Lynch Media and Entertainment Conference that prices for the REB1100 & REB1200 will drop over the next six to nine months. A report published by Bloomberg.com quotes Yuen as saying "The devices are a little too expensive for popular deployment." Yuen indicated that the price of the REB1100 would be reduced to approximately $120, while the more expensive REB1200 would cost $350.
