iPublish.com's "Discovered" AuthorsSince the launch of Time Warner Books' iPublish in April (see past newsletter article), they have received over 3,000 manuscript submissions. Out of that sea of manuscripts, six authors have come to the attention of iPublish.com editors based on numerous positive online reviews the works received. The first three titles, which were selected in August and are now available in paper ($13.95 - $14.95) and ebook ($2.00) formats, were Frank by Fred Petrovsky, Harmless by Kate Donovan and Travels by Jerry J. Davis. This month's winners are three first-time authors. Suzanne Allain, a computer programmer, wrote Incognito, a romantic comedy set in Regency England. The second, The Way of the Wolf, is a adventure/horror work written by E.E. Knight, a software developers from Illinois. Muzzy, a comic mystery, is by Margo Piece Dorksen, a former proofreader and pizza delivery driver. As a form of promotion, a contest has been formed about the three titles. Excerpts are available at http://newauthors.ipublish.com/index.asp. Readers are invited to read the three excerpts and vote for their favorite. One voter will be randomly selected to win $500 worth of Time Warner Books. The title that receives the most votes will be free from iPublish for one month in ebook format. iPublish hopes to release a new list of "discovered" authors each month, along with an associated contest. |
