TumbleBooks inLibraries

Richmond Public Library, British Columbia, because the first library to launch a pilot project with TumbleBooks, makers of an interactive, ebook format for children's books. The co-branded website has been linked to the library's main webpage. Upon registration, library patrons have access to TumbleBooks' collection of 25 children ebook titles, including the Caillou series. The titles are viewed via the free TumbleReader software.

Currently, four other libraries have partnered with TumbleBooks, including two in Australia. The library is charged a yearly administration fee and a per book charge for any new titles that are released during the year which are based on circulation and the number of branches. For example, a mid-size library would pay $500/year and $10 for any additional titles during the year.
